Day by Day with Parkinson's and Peripheral Neuropathy

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and Peripheral Neuropathy in 2006, but my symptoms seemed to take a turn in a different direction in late 2007. The current diagnosis is Essential Myoclonus. You will find record here of a my journey - coping with the testing, the medicines, nutrition, digestion problems, exercise, the emotions, and no telling what else!

Zelnorm Is Taken Off the Market

When I refilled my prescriptions last week, my pharmacist sent me a note that our insurance was no longer covering Zelnorm. I found out today why. It has been recalled. Luckily, the Miralax is doing a good job of keeping my digestive system moving along smoothly, and I didn't have any problems stopping the Zelnorm. Thank goodness I didn't have any of the heart problems that some people were having with it!!

That's twice my pharmacist has come to my rescue. I can't reinforce enough my suggestion that you buy all your prescriptions from one drug store!

Good advice about the pharmacist. Glad you didn't have negative side effects.

We live in such a small town, Shelia, that we're lucky to have a drug store at all! He's not open at night or on weekends and his prices are higher, but we'd use up all the savings in gas going somewhere else.

What we lose in 24/7 convenience we gain in having a pharmacist who knows everyone as individuals. We went a few years without a drug store at all, and I wouldn't want to go back to that, so we pay his higher prices willingly.

Glad you found out, DB, I check every prescription out with my pharmacist before I have them filled...he's helped me out more than once!

Not a bad idea at all, Marion! I hope everything is going well with you, your daughter, and your new grandson. ;)
